The Team side of our club is for those of us with a more competitive spirit, and continues a rich racing tradition within the St. Louis Cycling Club. Our Team Riders benefit from many of the same benefits as our Club Members. The Team side of our Club will focus on the athletes as individuals, and as a team. As individuals, we will focus on athletic development, coaching of specific and focused skills, racing as a team, and the importance of teamwork and support systems.
While competitive cycling demands a different approach, and skillset, it does not require any more or less attention from the Club. We treat all of our riders equally, and don’t place any one discipline over the other.
We offer our racing cyclists the same mentorship and guidance from our more experienced members, that we do to our Club Riders. This mentorship approach has served the Club very well over the past century, and we are confident that it will continue to serve our riders well. There is no greater reward for our more experienced riders than to be able to offer guidance and support to our newer riders, then to see those riders using those skills to succeed.
We’ll continue to outline and improve our Team Approach, but at the same time, some of the secrets are in the St. Louis Cycling Club Sauce, and we reserve the secret sauce for our Team Riders. We prefer that our history and results speak for themselves, and that above great results, all of our riders will instead focus on being great ambassadors for cycling above all else.
